momstown Mississauga mamas made extra special Mother’s Day gifts last week. Our Moms made homemade footprint Mother’s Day cards at our weekly Baby Basics program using their own babies’ adorable footprints. What a perfect way to create a keepsake for mom’s first Mother’s Day!
Materials:
washable paint
baby's little feet!
glossy card stock
glue
spring embellishement; stickers, 3D foam shapes, jewels, etc.
Directions:
1. Stamp the baby's tender tootsies in the paint colour of your choice! We used some lovely spring colours.
2. The cards were glossy and required the mamas to stamp the babies' footprints on a heavy cardstock and cut out to place on the card. There was glitter glue and butterflies to help create this special keepsake.
3. Once the footprints dried they were cut out, and the cards were assembled. Its great to see everyone's creativity how a basic idea can be turned into so many different variations by our creative mamas.
4. We added a special poem, just for mom;
Mommy, I love you
For all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you
'Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me.
To teach you to play,
So smile 'cause I love you
On this Mother's Day
