How To De-Stress This Holiday Season

December 6, 2014momstownFamily Life, ParentingNo comments
Holistic Nutritionist, Parent and Educator, Kathy Stewart is speaking at our Baby Basics group this December about how to manage stress and make time for yourself over the holidays.

Is that really Christmas music on the radio? On the many daily rides in the car I ask, "Kids are we ready for Christmas music?' hoping the answer is 'NO'.

I haven't started my shopping. I don't even have a list!

Still trying to figure out who needs winter clothes, where to put the hats and mitts so they don't get lost, where the missing socks are and the eternal question……..What's for dinner?

Who has time to think about the holidays….yet!  I have to muster up the energy to face Walmart, to deal with the chaos of the Costco parking lot and the bumper carts in the aisles, and cart wrangling of the checkout lanes.

We have to decorate. Get a tree.  (Another thing to take care of that makes a mess!)

Should I send an e-card this year?  I think we still have last year's cards that we didn't use…little date change might work, the kids didn't grow that much.

Don't forget to take the youngest to see Santa this year.  He still believes, don't ruin it!

Parties…oh I need a secret Santa gift tonight.  Got to get the house cleaned up.   Guests coming in a couple of weeks.  Need to invite the neighbours over of a holiday cheer.

Just thinking about it is EXHAUSTING!

Seriously, when did the advent calendar become a dial for increasing mothers stress levels?

Time to re-adjust my perspective.  Get a grip.  Find the JOY…its' got to be there somewhere.  Breathe.

Ok.  I need some help.  And mutual support for the holiday stress.   You too?

Find out how you can survive the holidays with a smile on your face, without harming any elves or crying in the bathroom.

Learn:

– How to make line-ups a joy

– To prioritize your time

– To eat for balance and pleasure, not comfort and distraction

– To sleep, without panic attacks

– To speak to your spouse and children without losing it (again)

– To make your children magically disappear (not really)

Come out for an informative hour of STRESS – LESS tips and tricks to keep you sane over the next 3 weeks with Holistic Nutritionist, Parent and Educator, Kathy Stewart.
