momstown Mississauga hosts a monthly bookclub for kids. Each month our sponsor Scholastic Canada sends a new book which we feature and one lucky family wins a copy for their family library.
momstown Mississauga had a very busy Tales for Tots program this month! This monthly program is sponsored by Scholastic Canada. We had a room full of eager little ones, ready for a fun craft, a book reading and an opportunity to take that book home with them.
This month’s book was King Pig, by Nick Bland. The story is about King Pig, who can’t understand why all his loyal subjects, the sheep, don’t like him. He tries everything he can think of to make them like him, but soon realizes where he’s gone wrong.
The story taught us all a very important lesson about how we should treat others. The children were glued to the story and even offered assistance by providing the sound effects for each of the animals.
In keeping with momstown’s theme for the month of February, Pajama Time, we gave the kids a chance to become little fashion designers and create their own pair of pajamas! We ended up with both onesies and two pieces, in a wide range of colours and patterns.
Our babies received a lot of help from their mamas, whereas the toddlers took control of their own masterpieces, meticulously deciding where each sticker should be placed. They had a lot of fun creating and who knows, we may be hosting the next Versace! One lucky family won a copy of the book for their library courtesy of Scholastic Canada.
momstown Mississauga meets monthly for our early literacy programming. Consider joining us next month!
