Alphabet Play is a monthly literacy program at momstown. Sponsored by Post Alphabits, this exciting program is a combination of stories, craft and discovery talking about a new Letter each month. We meet monthly at The Fun Side for this engaging early literacy program.
This month the letter we chose was F. A popular song that kids love is "What does the fox say" so the letter F was incorporated into this month's theme. We also read the Dr.Suess book, Fox in Socks. The kids loved the rhyming sounds in the Dr. Seuss book, repetition helps kids learn their letters.
Next we read the book My Dog. This book is great at teaching adjectives to our older kids and the younger ones like feeling the different pages. So everyone gets to be involved and have fun reading together.
Our preschoolers had fun gluing their fox together. It takes a lot of concentration to get those dobs of glue on the page and also helps with hand eye coordination.
We also got to sit down and have some Alphabits courtesy of our monthly snack sponsor Post Alphabits and some Fruit Salad (which also starts with F!)
