Canadian Cheeses Can’t Be Beat

April 29, 2016momstownContests, Contestsandgiveaways, Food, Recipe7 comments

Are you like me – have you become a cheese fiend? Cheese is definitely my desert-island-food, my close-my-eyes-and-smile-food. Lucky for us, our Canadian cheeses are some of the best in the world.

Lucky for me, those award-winning cheeses are available at my local grocery store. There are over 300 varieties of cheese at the Zehrs down the street, including the latest winners of the Canadian Cheese Awards.  Now that’s a red carpet that I would like to walk (taste-test) my way down!

cheese pairings

Years ago we had to seek out a specialty cheese shop in order to try the very best and to ask advice about recipes and pairings. Not today.  My local Zehrs has the Canadian Cheese of the Year winner – Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar along with many, many winners and finalists in other Canadian Cheese Awards categories.  Some of those winners include President’s Choice cheeses, found only at Loblaws brand stores. Check out some these delicious recipes.

Lemony Yogurt, Panini or Baked Penne

A weekend treat for our family is a meal of specialty cheeses, baguette, artisan crisps, preserves and Caprese salad. Each of us has a favourite cheese made from pure and natural milks – cow, goat, sheep and even water buffalo!

Welcome some Canadian award winners into your home. Try a new-to-you cheese from the wide variety at Zehrs. Take a bite, close your eyes…and smile!

We are giving away this amazing PC package to our Canadian readers ($50 value).

 A selection of Canadian Champion + International Cheeses
 PC Black Label Artisan Crisps
 PC Black Label Fruit Spreads, Jellies, and Preserves
 Section of nuts and dried fruit

Comment below and let us know what your favourite cheese is.

Although I received compensation for this post,  the opinions and language are my own.
